What is Our SDG About?
SDG 14: Life Below Water, is all about protecting the oceans and marine life. It focuses on reducing pollution and managing our ocean and ensuring sea life is safe and have a clean place to live. We chose Life Below Water because protecting oceans is important. They give us food, oxygen and help our climate. But pollution and overfishing harm them. Our project focuses on keeping marine life safe and using ocean resources responsibly.
How Did this Company Start?
At SEAS, we have fantastic teachers who believe in making projects that have an impact on our world. Mrs. Firth, Mrs. Melissa, Mrs. Cassandra, and Mr. Lanthier challenged us with this year long project that has us use what we learn during the week and apply it to a real life project.
What is the Social Entrepreneur Program?
The OCSB Social Entrepreneurs Program (SEP) is an exciting Deep Learning opportunity for K-12 students to participate in an enriching, business oriented, and student-led initiative where they gain entrepreneurial experience, develop innovative mindsets and Global Competencies.
Paired with a community business partner, students and educators research social issues, choose a charity and/or community partner to support and work on building a social enterprise.
Students gain an understanding that they are global citizens and changemakers who have an impact on the world around them.
